Each
taiko head is manufactured specifically for your taiko when you place
your order. This guarantees a consistant thickness and properly matched
heads. Our wet conditioning process for each head will make your heads
last longer, look better, and provide a longer in tune time. You can
choose to have your heads bleached white, or left natural and with
a black painted border. When fitted to the rings the heads are further
conditioned to insure even stretching. Each head is hand sewn with
two rows of stitching. We use a heavy duty synthetic cord that is
stronger than normal thread and can withstand the abuse of repeated
bachi hits. The rings are machined formed from solid steel, and are
no smaller than 1/2. The standard Shime Daiko heads have 1/2 rings,
and the largest taiko can have up to 1".
The
prices shown below are for completely finished heads,
sewn to the rings, and painted if chosen.
The
prices listed below are for a single taiko head.
